ABOUT YOUR TRAINER
Bridget Hammond
Hi, Iβm Bridget, and I know firsthand what itβs like to love dogs but feel overwhelmed by all the conflicting training advice out there.
My journey started when I was a kid dreaming of becoming a veterinarian, but I didnβt get my first dog, Oliver, until I was 18. He was a Labrador, a total "unicorn dog" who made training look effortless. I took him to six group classes, read a new book, The Art of Raising a Puppy, and for 17 years, we lived a happy off-leash life togetherβturns out, I had no idea how rare that was!
Fast forward through 10 years in human medicine, 12 years running my own martial arts school teaching life skills to kids, teens, and adults. While raising a family and two very different dogs: Murphy, my energetic Irish Setter, and Charlie, my reactive Lab-Staffie mix. Suddenly, training wasnβt so easy anymore. I dove deep into research but found that confusing and conflicting and wasnβt getting me the life I wanted with and for my dogs.
Thatβs when I turned to professional help, which evolved into my own journey as a trainer. Now, I combine my love for dogs, teaching, and science to help busy families and working professionals who want clarity, practical solutions, and a great relationship with their dogs. My approach is rooted in applied ethology, efficiency, compassion, and transparencyβbecause training should fit into real life, not take it over.
